No way she would tell us it was true until after someone finds something . And only then would she confirm its existence.
That being said, a good piece of mental detective work! Hope you are right!

Maybe, maybe not. It sure would be hella cool, though, aye? That said the weekend is cool enough in itself.

It would be cool, I'll admit. If only for the reason that the people who were "omg vanquishing sucks!" would likely be running out into HM so fast, the red helmets would spin *g*
I really, really want the bow that was designed. So pretty.
BTW, the winners are here: http://www.guildwars.com/events/cont...signaweapon07/

My guess is trolls will drop them in the secret cave spot outside of droks......
Cool if it is true and a random spawn somewhere would be great. (Charr Patrol in the jungle )

not bad, you certainly thought outside the box for this weekend event. i saw it just as another "trying to get people to PuG but failing" weekend attempt. good thinking. i hope this is true, cause ive got a LOT of sab-waying to do this weekend. maybe ill be the lucky one to discover the new weapons :P

Uhhh.. lol as much as I'd love to see my design in-game, I think this is reading way too much into it.. Besides, Jan ends on Thurs Fri. (Not that it has to line up perfectly, but..)
I dunno. I think they are just going to push back the date of the item implementation.

Well no one that cared vanquisher title ever vanquished an area before. And getting 4k gold and 4k xp instead of 2k gold and xp isnt going to make everyone vanquish an area. Avtually no one would care double reward. If anet would done this event for such reason they are dump

Its a DAtabase.
Sorry, that tickled my dbag side of grammar corrections...
And it would be a cool idea to have people go out and find the new weapons, heres to hoping .
The Totem axe actually got me to explore the Falls, which I have been grateful for ever since.

Why is this important? Supposedly, the design a weapon contest winners were supposed to have been implemented in January, and a quick look at my calender shows that January is practically at its end. If the new weapons have indeed been added, I'd say that there is at least a chance that they got implemented to some creature/mob somewhere that isn't being constantly farmed or otherwise killed, and hence hasn't been discovered yet. Therefore, it may be the case that anet is doing this vanquishing rewards weekend in order to expedite the discovery of said weapons.

[joke]OOO I think it's a plan to get everyone to get good gold drops to go sell in the newly introduced Xunlai Market. [/joke] I wish.
But about the new skins. It would be a creative way to get people to find them. But they would be found anyway. I'm sure my luck will be the same as always and I won't get one of those for months.

eh, they switch weekend events from pvp to pve, and since it seems like they only do certain pve events (double xp for such and such happens A LOT) it was only a matter of time. In fact, didn't we just have a double gold for vanquishing event a month or 2 ago? Doubt it has anything to do with the weapons thing.

Oh... and what about if they also make Inscriptions worldwide...?
Hoo-hoo... that would be lovely.
But I would not expect too much. If there going to add something, they would tell it to encourage people entering the event.

Don't expect anything secret, those days anything like that would get immediately discovered in gw.dat...
Even back then in mid 2006 when they added a whole bunch of new weapons in an undocumented update (totem axes, fans and stuff) they were found in mere minutes after update. I know that, I was selling first Totem axes for 55k+ half an hour after this update myself
